What You'll Need To Enter

Transforming a pile of rusty parts into an award-winning, restored tractor is a big challenge. Fortunately, entering your project into the Delo® Tractor Restoration Competition is easy and fun.

Step 1: Complete and Submit a Project Workbook

The official workbook is your chance to share the story of your unique project. Tell us how you brought the engine back to life, fixed the transmission, decided how to design the exterior, etc. The workbook also provides information on the competition and guides you through the restoration process.

You can request a workbook on this web site.

The deadline for submitting your completed workbook is August 29, 2011.

Samples of past workbooks are available for reference. These are only meant as guides and examples of how past workbooks have been completed. The workbook is your chance to show your creativity and describe your unique experience, so don't feel compelled to follow the exact styles in the sample workbooks.

Step 2: Submit a Video

Now that your tractor is fully restored, it's time to make it a star! While the workbook provides a detailed account of your project, the video (2-3 minutes) submission is your chance to give the judges a behind-the-scenes glimpse into your experience during the restoration and let them see and hear your tractor roar back to life.

If you're interested you can check out the information on the how to prepare the video as well as samples of past submissions.

Step 3: Have Fun and Enjoy the Ride!

You'll be judged on the quality of your restoration, but you'll remember this experience for the rest of your life for the fun you had and the skills you gained along the way.

We hope you have a great time restoring your tractor and we can't wait to see the results!

Judging

A panel of expert judges will narrow the initial round of entries to a group of 12 finalists. Judging will be based on the quality of the restoration effort, documentation, safety precautions and the oral presentation (finalists only). All selected finalists will be invited to the National Finals Competition, held in conjunction with the National FFA Convention. Finalists will make an oral presentation of their project to a panel of five tractor restoration specialists.

Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony held on the last day of the convention.
